Chu's First REAL Job

Hello, on this site just like others I will be known as Chu aka. Chuash I've just recently moved in back with my parents until I am able to keep me and my fiance stable with money. Yes, I am engaged. I'm 18. I know that I am considered to be young, but who says that you have to get married right away after you get engaged? Nobody. I starting working at CVS/Pharmacy on October 15th, 2006. This is what my blog is about.

CVS/Pharmacy 1-10 (11-3-06) Meds: A Need in Life

Pretty much nothing happened. Just me and two girls were closing. Their "names" are: Sam and Zip. Sam works in photo and Zip is the assigned manger... 15 minutes before the store closed a phone call came in. I picked it up.

I said, "Hello, this is CVS. How can I help you?" He then asked me right away if this is a 24-hour store. "No" I tell him, "This store will become 24-hours on the 24th of this month."

He then said some random crap but I comprehended it like this, "The auto-matic teller asked me if I wanted a 24-hour store. I picked that and it gave me this number."

I then explained to him again that this store won't be 24-hours until the 24th. He asked me where there would be a 24-hour CVS.

Not knowing what to do I did the next best thing. I asked him a 24-hour store of CVS or just one in general. He didn't answer so I told him, "There isn't a 24-hour store of CVS in ******* County from what I know of, but Ralphs is just a couple minutes away is."

I guess that somehow made him mad so he wanted to talk to my manager. I told Zip that he wanted to talk to a manager. She told me to put him on hold. I should have told him, "Sir a manager will be with you in a second. Can you hold please?" But I just put him on hold without a word.

She picked up the phone and said, "Hello, this is Zip. How can I help you?" No clue what was said between that and when he hung up, but she called the store manager right away. I guess the dude was on his way to the store.

The guy showed up angry and was saying we were trying to trick him to not come to the store by saying that it was closing.

Yes, we did say the store was closing, but that was because it was 15 minutes till Ten. We close at Ten.

Zip had the store manager on the phone and asked the guy if he wanted to talk to him. He said yes and they started to discuss who knows what.

After he finished talking to the store manager he basically gave us a lecture that only lasted about three minutes. A total of two minutes talking and one minute of giving us stares. I got the longest stare of all.

Honestly, the way this guy was acting. I took off anything that belonged to me that was either expensive or breakable. I was getting ready to fight if I had to.

Nothing happened. The guy left. After he did, the store manager called back and Sam picked up the phone. She started to cry and handed the phone to Zip. I went over to her and held her because she was scared to death. The way this guy was acting she thought he was going to pull out a gun or something like that.

Zip finished up the phone called and we got our stuff. Closed up the store. Zip left in her car while I waited with Sam until her ride came.

Its crazy because this very same day... I asked the store manager if I can work on the grave-yard shift when it starts.
